At least five persons were injured when police fired rubber bullets to disperse Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal (RJP-N) protesters in Parasi, the district headquarters of Nawalparasi, on Saturday. Nawalparasi police chief Rajendra Chaudhary said security personnel fired five rubber bullets and four rounds of bullets in air. The RJP-N, which has opposed the June 28 local elections, has been protesting in the Tarai region,. RJP-N leader Mahantha Thakur was addressing an RJP-N programme when police opened fire on protesters when they tried to seize election materials of the CPN-UML kept in the office Mid-Nepal Transportation Committee in Parasi. Police suddenly opened fire after a minor scuffle, said Puran Chaudhary, district coordinator of the RJP-N. The injured are receiving treatment at the district hospital, added Puran. Later in the evening, around a dozen RJP-N activists, including RJP-N central member Haidar Ali, were detained, said police. In Banke, police arrested 13 RJP-N district leaders when they were about to take out a baton rally from the party office in Tribhuvan Chowk. सदरमुकाम परासीमा प्रहरी र राजपाका कार्यकर्ताबिच झडप हुँदा तीन जना घाइते भएका छन् । राष्ट्रिय जनता पार्टीको विरोध सभालाई राजपाका संयोजक महन्थ ठाकुरले सम्बोधन गर्दै गर्दा प्रहरी र कार्यकर्ताबीच झडप भएपछि प्रहरीको चलाएको रबर गोलीले तीन जना कार्यकर्ता घाईते भएका हुन् । जिल्लाको सदरमुकाम परासीमा सभा चल्दै गर्दा सभा नजिक मध्य नेपाल यातायात व्यवासायी समितिको काउण्टरमा राखिएको एमाले पार्टीको टिसर्टलाई राजपाका कार्यकर्ताहरुले जलाउने क्रममा प्रहरी र कार्यकर्ताबीच झडप भएको हो । जमुनीका ५० वर्षीय नरसिंह चौधरी, गेरमीका २७ वर्षीय सुरेश गुप्ता र नर्सहीका ४० वर्षीय भगवन्त गुप्ता घाइते भएका छन् । प्रहरी र कार्यकर्ताबीच भएको झडपलाई प्रहरीले नियन्त्रणमा लिनका लागि तीन राउड रबर गोली फायर गरेको छ भने आधा दर्जनभन्दा बढि अश्रुग्यास प्रहार गरेको छ । प्रहरीले छोडेको अश्रु ग्यासका कारण भागदौडमा अन्य ६ कार्यकर्ताहरु घाइते भएका राजपा नवलपरासीले जनाएको छ । राजपाले सभामा गोली चलाएको आरोप लगाए पनि प्रहरीले झडपलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिन अश्रु ग्यास फायर गरेको जनाएको छ ।
