Police arrested two journalists, Khem Bhandari and G Bhatta (editor and executive editor of Manaskhanda Dainik which publishes from Mahendranagar) on the charge of public offense on Saturday. Police said that they were detained on June 17 in relation to a news item published in the newspaper a few days ago. The Kanchanpur chapter of the Federation of Nepali journalists condemned the incident and demanded the immediate release of the journalists. .According to DSP Bhim Bahadur Dahal of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, Bhandari, and Bhatt were arrested after hotel operators Kanchan Nath and Puja Nath, Khemraj Nath lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur. The news published in their newspaper character assassinated Khemraj daughter's image.
