A couple at Junichande Rural Municipality, Jajarkot has reported that they were ill-treated by a security officer a few days ago. They reached district headquarters Khalanga to seek justice.
Jaya Lal Khadka and his spouse Lala Khadka of the municipality complained that they were badly manhandled by head constable Dhan Bahadur Oli of Area Police Office Garkhakot. Oli with his team had reached the couples’ locality to settle a land related dispute.
According to Khadka, constable Oli accompanied by three other temporary police personnel had reached the spot under the influence of alcohol. “They forced me to accompany them to the police post. After I refused, they thrashed me and also mistreated my wife. Instead of settling the dispute, they started harassing us,” he said, adding his attempt to lodge a complaint against the constable at District Police Office Khalanga on Sunday was refused by the police. The victim has appealed to rights activists and journalists to support for his quest for justice.
