A bomb has been exploded in a road section near the house of Nepali Congress mayor candidate Keshav Kumar Shrestha at Buddabhumi Municipality-1, Mahendrakot on June 27. There was no report on human or physical loss in an explosion according to CDO Bishnu Prasad Dhakal. The locals said that the explosion was with the objective to terrorize people on the eve of election. Out of 233 polling stations of the district, the southern part and 163 polling stations in bordering area are categorized as very sensitive and 25 places are categorized as sensitive. Apart from few incidents, in overall, the election preparation is going on in peaceful environment according to the election office. The distribution of voter’s ID card is continuing in the district according to the election office. बुद्धभूमी नपा-१ स्थित महेन्द्रकोट निवासी नेपाली काङ्ग्रेसका तर्फबाट मेयरका उम्मेदवार केशवकुमार श्रेष्ठको घर नजिकै सडकमा असार १२ गते बम विष्फोट भएको छ । अज्ञात समूहद्वारा गरिएको सुतली बम विष्फोटबाट कुनै मानवीय र भौतिक क्षति भने नभएको प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी विष्णुप्रसाद ढकालले जानकारी दिए । मौन समय सुरूभएसँगै अज्ञात समूहले गराएको बम विष्फोटनबाट निर्वाचनलाई प्रभावित बनाउन प्रयास गरिएको स्थानीयबासी बताउँछन् । कपिलवस्तुका २ सय ३३ मतदानस्थल मध्ये दक्षिणी भेग तथा सिमाक्षेत्रका १ सय ६३ मतदान स्थललाई अति सम्वेदनशील र २५ स्थानलाई सम्वेदनशील तथा अन्य स्थललाई सामान्य भनेर वर्गीकरण गरिएको छ । जिल्लामा फाटफुट घटना भएपनि समग्र रूपमा शान्तिपूर्ण रूपमा निर्वाचन कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन भइरहेको निर्वाचन कार्यालयले जनाएको छ । जिल्लाभर सबै निर्वाचन स्थलहरूमा मतदाताहरूलाई परिचयपत्र वितरण कार्य जारी रहेको कार्यलयले जानकारी दिएको छ ।
