Banke/ June 4 The District Court of Banke has issued a verdict to compensate a torture victim with 95,000 rupees. Judge Shekhar Prasad Paudel issued the order on June 2. Nijamuddin Shesh, 22, of Nepalgunj Municipality-16, claiming that he was severely tortured in the custody of District Police Office in course of investigation, had registered a complaint against the then SP Dinesh Amatya and police constable Ashok Yadav on September 6, 2011 under Torture Compensation Act. Confirming the victim was tortured in police custody, the District Court ordered to award compensation to the victim and directed the police to send medical report of the defendants after conducting their physical and mental health check-up. Regional Coordinator of Advocacy Forum Nepal, advocate Basanta Gautam, and other legal professionals had pleaded on behalf of the victim. Binod Pandey बाँके । जेठ २१ गते जिल्ला अदालत बाँकेले एक यातना पीडितको मुद्दामा ९५ हजार रुपिया क्षतिपूर्ति दिलाउने फैसला गरेको छ । न्यायाधीश शेखरप्रसाद पौडेलेको र्इजलासले जेठ १९ गते त्यस्तो फैसला गरेको हो । नेपालगञ्ज नपा-१६ का २२ वर्षीय निजामुद्दिन शेषले अपराध अनुसन्धानका क्रममा जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय हिरासतमा राख्दा प्रहरीले आफुलाई चरम यातना दिएको भन्दै जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालयका तत्कालिन एसपी दिनेश अमात्य र प्रहरी जवान अशोक यादवका विरुद्ध ०६८ भदौ २० मा बाँके जिल्ला अदालतमा यातनाको क्षतिपूर्ति मुद्दा दायर गरेका थिए । जिल्ला अदालतले प्रहरीले हिरासतमा यातना दिएको ठहर गर्दै यातना पीडितलाई क्षतिपूर्ति रकम भराई दिने र प्रत्येक प्रतिवादीको शारिरीक तथा मानसिक स्थितिको स्वास्थ्य जाँच गरी त्यसको प्रतिवेदन अनिवार्य रुपमा अदालतमा पठाउन प्रहरीका नाममा निर्देशनसमेत दिएको छ । यातना पीडित निजामुद्धिन शेषको तर्फबाट एड्भोकेसी फोरमका क्षेत्रीय संयोजक अधिवक्ता बसन्त गौतम तथा अन्य कानून व्यवसायी लोकबहादुर शाह, नारायणप्रसाद शास्त्री, पदम पाण्डे, बिश्वजित तिवारी, रामकुमार दिक्षित लगायतले बहश पैरवी गरेका थिए । बिनोद पाण्डे
