Banke/June 10 The District Court of Banke has decided that Harikuma Pun of Motipur VDC-7, an inmate in Banke Prison, be provided 51,000 rupees as compensation for being subjected to torture in police custody. A single bench of Judge Shekhar Paudel on June 9 gave the decision against the then SP Dinesh Amatya, Inspector Harka Bahadur Rwal, police constable Rajani Malla and Bhagwati Subedi. The victim sustained a broken hand due to the police torture after being arrested on charge of human trafficking on August 14, 2011.
