Makawanpur/June 11 The District Court in Makawanpur has slapped 8-year jail term to a man convicting him of rape of a girl. The single bench of Judge Tek Narayan Kunwar on June 11 also ordered to provide 2 lakh rupees to the victim from the rapist. Suman Rai, 19, of Manahari VDC-6 had raped a 13-year-old at a local jungle on September 22, 2012. Police Constable Convicted for Rape INSEC Sankhuwasabha representative Chhetu Sherpa reports that the District Court in Sankhuwasabha has sent police constable of Tamku Police Post Amrit Rai to 7 years in prison for raping a 17-year-old girl. The court also slapped Rai with 25 thousand rupees fine. Rai had raped the girl on March 28, 2012.
