The central region bandh called by disqualified Maoist combatants has affected public life in the district on January 1.

Specially, the students and travellers faced the problems because of the lack of vehicles plying on the road.

The disqualified combatants and Baidhya faction of UCPN-M stopped the vehicles and forced the closure of the shops and factories.

The students had to walk for hours to appear in the exams. Some students said they did not attend the exams as there were no vehicles. The people discharged from the hospital and other travellers also had to travel on foot.
