BIRGUNJ, JUN 17 - A rape victim in Parsa was allegedly beaten by police to force her drop the case against one of her rapists on Saturday. The woman from Mudli5 filed a complaint at the Narayani Zonal Police Office on Sunday claiming that a female police officer lashed her with a bamboo stick inside the office of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basudev Khatiwada at the Parsa District Police Office. The victim said police thrashed her for refusing to take Rs 200,000 and marry one of her rapists, who is currently in police custody. The victim was raped by Binod Sah and Bideshi Mahato a month ago. Police arrested Mahato but Sah is still at large. The woman said after she refused to withdraw the case, Mahato’s friends captured her and took her to a house at Pokhariya on June 11. She was offered Rs 200,000 and asked to marry Mahato, which she refused. In the wake of the incident, the woman’s family decided to file a case accusing Mahato of kidnapping her. They were asked to visit the District Police Office on Saturday, where the police allegedly used force to make the victim change her statement. DSP Khatiwada said there was just a ‘minor push and pull’ during the interrogation and the woman’s claims about ‘thrashing her’ were untrue. वीरगञ्ज,३ असार। बलात्कृत एक युवतीलाई बयान परिवर्तन गर्न प्रहरी अधिकृतको कक्षमै कुटपिट गरिएको छ। पर्साको मुड्ली-५ की युवतीले जिप्रकाका नायब उपरीक्षक वासुदेव खतिवडाको कार्यकक्षमा महिला प्रहरीले आफूलाई लाठीले कुटेको भन्दै कारबाही र न्यायका लागि नारायणी अञ्चल प्रहरीमा आइतबार उजुरी दर्ता गरेकी छन्। सोमबारको कान्तिपुर दैनिकमा भूषण यादवले समाचार लेख्नु भएको छ। आमा, बाबु र गाउँका भलादमीसहित आएकी युवतीले आफूलाई अपहरणशैलीमा जिल्ला प्रहरीमा ल्याएर बयान परिवर्तनका लागि दबाब दिएको उजुरीमा उल्लेख गरेकी छन्। जेठ ३ गते सोही गाउँ बस्ने ४० वषर्ीय विनोद साह र विदेशी महतोले राति ९ बजे घर नजिकको गोठमा मुख थुनेर सामूहिक बलात्कार गरेका थिए। बलात्कारपछि युवतीले रोईकराई गर्दै बाहिर आएपछि आमा, बुबा र गाउँलेले तिनीहरूलाई समात्न खोजेका थिए । भोलिपल्ट इप्रका पोखरियामा उजुरी दर्ता भएपछि महतोलाई प्रहरीले पक्राउ गरेर हिरासतमा राखेको छ । साह भने फरार रहेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । चिकित्सकले समेत युवती बलात्कृत भएको रिपोर्ट दिएका छन् । मुद्दा कमजोर पार्न पीडकका आफन्तले पटक-पटक ज्यान मार्ने धम्की दिएको युवतीले बताइन् । ‘कहिले पैसाको प्रलोभन देखाए,’ आइतबार उनले भनिन्, ‘बयान फेर्न दबाब दिइरहेका छन् ।’ दबाब र प्रलोभनमा नमानेपछि गत जेठ २८ गते गाउँ बाहिर शौच गर्न गएका बेला मोटरसाइकलमा आएका पीडकका समूहले अपहरण गरी पोखरियास्थित एक घरमा ल्याएका थिए । ‘बयान फिर्ता लिए २ लाख रुपैयाँ र हिरासतमा रहेका महतोसँग विवाह गराइदिने प्रलोभन दिए,’ गहभरि आँसु झार्दै युवतीले भनिन् । कोठामा होहल्ला भएपछि उनीहरूले मलाई बाहिर निकालेर आफू मोटरसाइकल चढेर गए ।
