Police arrested three family members for their involvement in killing and disposing a newborn baby from Aathrai Tribeni Rural municipality, Taplejung on Thursday. An unmarried woman of the family had given birth. The alleged have been identified as Lakpa Sherpa, 50, Pema Jungmu Sherpa,12 and Sange Sherpa,16 of the rural municipality. The newborn's mother Sandhya Sherpa,23 is at large. DSP Gyanendra Bahadur Basnet at District Police Office, Taplejung said members of the family had killed and buried the newborn on the night of August 30 after Sandhya gave birth. Police recovered the baby's body 200 meters away from their house 12 days later. Police said that body was sent to Taplejung hospital for post-mortum. The arrested Lakpa is Sandhya's father. Sange her brother and Pema her sister. Police said the baby's father would not be identified until the mother was arrested. A search in on to find her. अवैधरुपमा जन्माएको नवजात शिशु मारेर गाडेको अभियोगमा प्रहरीले ताप्लेजुङको आठराई त्रिवेणी गाउँपालिका–५ बाट तीनजनालाई पक्राउ गरेको छ । पक्राउ पर्नेमा अन्दाजी ५० वर्षीय लाक्पा शेर्पा, १२ वर्षीया पेमा जाङ्मु शेर्पा र १६ वर्षीय साङ्गे शेर्पा रहेका छन् । उनीहरुलाई इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय, दोभानको टोलीले पक्राउ गरेको हो । शिशुकी आमा २३ वर्षीया सन्ध्या शेर्पा भने फरार रहेकी छन् । उनको खोजीकार्य भइरहेको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय ताप्लेजुङका प्रमुख नायव प्रहरी उपरीक्षक ज्ञानेन्द्रबहादुर बस्नेतले जानकारी दिनुभयो । भदौ १४ गते राति अविवाहित छोरी सन्ध्याबाट शिशु जन्मिएपछि परिवारले घरबाट २०० मिटर तल आफ्नै बारीमा खाल्डो खनेर गाडेको बस्नेतले बताउनुभयो । घटना भएको १२ दिनपछि भदौ २६ गतेमात्रै प्रहरीले शिशुको शव फेला पारेको हो । शव गलिसकेकाले लिङ्ग पहिचान हुन नसकेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । शव परीक्षणका लागि जिल्ला अस्पताल, ताप्लेजुङमा ल्याइएको छ । पक्राउ परेका लाक्पा सन्ध्याका बाबु, साङ्गे भाइ र पेमा बहिनी हुन् । नवजात शिशु मार्ने अभिभावकलाई कर्तव्य ज्यानको मुद्दा चलाइने बस्नेतले बताउनुभयो । फरार रहेकी सन्ध्यालाई पक्राउ गरिएपछि मात्रै शिशुको बाबु पत्ता लाग्ने बताइएको छ ।
