The District Police Office, Nawalparasi, has started investigation against the police inspector who is learnt to have thrashed public under the influence of alcohol while on duty. Mohanman Shrestha, Inspector at the Area Police Office, Dumkibas, has been accused of assaulting Dumkibas locals under the influence of alcohol on Saturday night. On the night, the inebriated inspector with his team had reached a gambling den of the village to arrest gamblers. But locals, upon finding out that the inspector has consumed alcohol, started chanting slogans against him. This became a reason for the gamblers to flee the scene. Some locals said that the youths reached police station and started chanting slogans against the police. Upon knowing about the incident, a police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Kawasoti, under the command of DSP Nabin Bhattarai reached the site and took the situation under control. DSP Bhattarai said that Inspector tested positive for alcohol in the medical test. SP Mukunda Acharya of the DPO said that the accused inspector is now at District Police Office and he has formed a probe team to investigate activities of the inspector. He said further action will be taken once the probe team submits its report in five days. गस्तीमा गएका बेला मदिरा सेवन गरेर सर्वसाधारणलाई कुटपिट गर्ने प्रहरी निरीक्षकलाई जिल्ला प्रहरीले कारबाही थालेको छ । इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय दुम्किवासका प्रहरी निरीक्षक मोहनमान श्रेष्ठले मदिरा सेवन गरेर शनिवार राति दुम्किवासका सर्वसाधारणलाई कुटपिट गरेका थिए । गस्तीमा निस्केको बेलामा मदिरा सेवन गरेर उनले दुम्कीबासका सर्वसाधरणलाई कुटपिट गरेको आरोप छ । गस्तीमा जादा तासखेलेको स्थानमा मदिरा खाएर पुगेको र उनीहरुलाई नियनत्रणमा लिन खोज्दा स्थानीयले निरिक्षकले मदिरा सेवन गरेको भेटेपछि आपत्ति जनाएर तत्काल उनीबिरुद्ध नाराबाजी गरेका थिए । प्रहरीले जुवाडेलाई समाउन खोजेपछि सर्बसाधारणले मदिरा सेवन गरेर गस्तीमा आएको भन्दै हल्ला गरेर जुवाडे भगाएका थिए । जुवाडे भागेपछि जुवाडेकै इसारामा स्थानीय केहि युवाहरुले प्रहरी चौकी अघि प्रहरीलाई दोषि देखाउन नाराबाजी गर्न लगाएको स्थानीयको भनाई छ । घटनाको जानकारी पछि इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय कावासोतीका डिएसपी नबिन राईको टोली पुगेर स्थिति साम्य पारेको थियो । उनले प्रहरी निरीक्षकलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिएर स्वास्थ्य परिक्षण गराउँदा मादक पदार्थ सेवन गरेको प्रमाणित भएको बताए । नवलपरासीका प्रहरी उपरीक्षक मुकुन्द आचार्यले इन्सपेक्टरलाई जिल्ला प्रहरीमा तानेर उनको गतिबिधिका बारेमा अनुसन्धन गर्न डिएसपी मोहन खाँडको संयोजकत्वमा ३ सदस्य छानविन टोली गठन गरेर अनुसन्धान भइरहेको जानकारी दिए । टोलमा एक प्रहरी निरीक्षक र एक जना प्रहरीका सई रहेका छन् । उनले छानविनका लागि ५ दिनको समय रहेको र प्रतिबेदनका आधारमा प्रकृया अघि बढाइने बताए । 'दोषी प्रमाणित भए कारबाही हुन्छ' प्रहरी उपरीक्षक आचार्यले भने ।
