Morang/June 22 The cadres of CPN-M have captured 13 ropanis of land belonging to Madhumalla VDC-7 on June 21. The cadres hoisted the sickle-hammer red flag to announce the capture. According to CPN-M’s Kochila State Committee member Sitaram Budhathoki said that the land was captured because Upreti was planning to sell it evicting the landless squatters. A 25-member landless protection and struggle committee led by Lal Bahadur Limbu was also formed following the capture, Budhathoki said. The land was captured by the Maoists in 2005 and was returned after the peace process. Upreti is living in Kathmandu and could not be contacted. Police said that they did not take any action as they had no formal complaint filed.
