Dammar Mahat, the chief of Badimalika Municipality-2, was attacked by an unidentified group on Saturday while returning home from the District Health Office, Bajura. The incident took place near the District Sports Development Committee at around 10:30 pm. According to Mahat, a group of three people attacked him on the way. He has sustained serious injuries to his head and eyes. Mahat had secured victory in the local elections from CPN-UML quota. He is undergoing treatment at the District Hospital. Though he suspects the cadres of Nepali Congress might be behind the attack, it is not yet confirmed. Police have started investigating into the incident. बढीमालिका नगरपालिका–२ का वडा अध्यक्ष डम्मर महत माथि अज्ञात समूहले आक्रमण गरेको छ । जिल्ला स्वास्थ्य कार्यालयबाट घर फर्किने क्रममा जिल्ला खेलकुद विकास समिति नजिकै महतमाथि आक्रमण भएको हो । महत विरामी पुर्याएर राती १० ः ३० बजेतिर घर फर्किदै थिए । महतका अनुसार तीन जनाको समूहले उनीमाथि आक्रमण गरेका हुन् । कुटपीटबाट महतको आँखा र टाउकोमा गम्भीर चोट लागेको छ । जिल्ला अस्पतालमा उपचार गराइरहेका महतले नेपाली काँग्रेसका कार्यकर्ताले योजनावद्ध रुपमा आक्रमण गरेको हुनसक्ने बताए । महत एमालेबाट वडा अध्यक्षमा जितेका थिए । २ जनाले अगाडि र एक जनाले पछाडिबाट आक्रमण गरी फरार भएको महतको भनाई छ । महतले अनुसन्धानका लागि प्रहरीमा जाहेरी दिएका छन् । प्रहरीले अनुसन्धान भइरहेको बताएको छ । आक्रमणमा संलग्न व्यक्तिहरूको पत्ता लागे सार्वजनिक मुद्दा दर्ता गर्ने घाइते महतले तयारी गरेका छन्।
