Surkhet/July 6 Police have arrested Ajit Khan of Gagretal in Jurbuta VDC-1 has been arrested on July 5 for forcing his wife and five daughters out of home. District Police Office, Surkhet said the District Child Welfare Committee initiated Khan’s arrest and has been currently held in the custody for investigation, SP Bishwa Niranjan Pradhan said. According to SP Pradhan, Khan had been repeatedly beating his girls, aged 11, 9 and 7 adding that he had forced his wife Setu Khan out of home one and half month ago. Setu, who left home with her two younger daughters, remains out of contact. The family’s neighbor Ram Bahadur Badi said that Setu and the girls were beaten up almost daily by Khan. Following Khan’s arrest, the girls have been left without any gauardians.
