Kailali/January 4 The district court Kailali has sentenced Prakash Bhatta, 30, of Darakh VDC-7 to 12 years and six months in prison for raping a 7-year-old girl of same place. A single bench of Justice Bishnu Subedi gave the verdict on January 3. The court has also asked him to provide 75 thousand rupees to the victim as relief. Bhatta has been sent to the district prison following the court order. Mother of the victim had filed a case against Bhatta at the area police office Sukkhad on January 4, 2012 accusing him of raping the girl on the same day. Bhatta had raped the girl after taking her to Shaileshwori Community forest from a neighbor's house where she was sleeping. He was arrested on the same day. Medical check-up of the girl was held at the Seti Zonal Hospital.
