Dhankuta/July 10 Various hotels in the district of Dhankuta have been using children as workers. In a survey performed by District Child Welfare Committee has found that at least six hotels in the district have been using children of age between 14-18 years as workers. The Government of Nepal has signed the treaty regarding the child rights in 1990 September 14, however, due to the lack of effective monitoring, the children are compelled to work at places like hotels. District Child Welfare officer Hari Prasad Dahal informed INSEC district representative that Atit Rai, 17, of Bhojpur, Sajan Rai, 18, of Sunsari, Durga Bogati, 16, of Dhankuta and Susan Limbu, 13, of Taplejung among others have been employed in various hotels in Dhankuta as a child labourer. The Children Welfare Commission immediately corresponded to the respective hotels in order to send the children back home. The hotels will be brought down to the legal boundaries if they ignore the letter, officer Dahal said. The monitoring in presence of CDO would begin soon, he added. The District Child Welfare committee has been implementing a work plan in order to eliminate the child labor in the District. The committee said that it has a further plan to monitor the VDC’s as well. Santosh Ruchal धनकुटा । ०७० असार २६ गते धनकुटा जिल्लाका विभिन्न होटलहरूमा बालबालिकाहरूलाई घरेलु कामदारको रुपमा लगाउने गरेको पाईएको छ । जिल्ला बालकल्याण समितिले हालै गरेको एक सर्वेक्षणको क्रममा जिल्लाका छ ओटा होटलमा १४ वर्षदेखि १८ वर्षसम्मका बालबालिकाहरूलाई घरेलु कामदारको रुपमा लगाइएको पाईएको छ । बालबालिकालाई कुनै पनि प्रकारका घरेलु कामदारको रुपमा प्रयोग नगर्ने भनी नेपालले सन् १९९० सेप्टेम्बर १४ मा बालअधिकारसम्बन्धी महासन्धीमा हस्ताक्षर गरे पनि राज्यको भरपर्दो अनुगमनका अभावमा बालबालिका घरेलुकामदारका रुपमा श्रम गर्न बाध्य छन् । भोजपुर जिल्लाका १७ वर्षीय अतित राई, सुनसरीका १८ वर्षीय साजन राई, धनकटाका १६ वर्षीय दुर्गा बोगटी र १३ वर्षीय सुसन लिम्बु, ताप्लेजुङका १६ वर्षीय तेन्जिङ शेर्पा, १४ वर्षीय सुबिश शेर्पा, १६ वर्षीय समित राई र पाँचथरका १६ वर्षीय रुपेन्द्र राई धनकुटाका विभिन्न होटलमा कार्यरत रहेको जिल्ला बालकल्याण समितिका बालअधिकार अधिकृत हरिप्रसाद दाहालले असार २५ गते इन्सेक प्रतिनिधिलाई बताएका छन् । जिल्ला बालकल्याण समितिले अनुगमनको क्रममा बालबालिकालाई घरेलु कामदारको रुपमा प्रयोग गरेको पाएपछि तत्काल ती बालबालिकालाई उनीहरूको घर फर्काउनको लागि सम्बन्धित होटललाई हालै पत्रचार गरेको छ । पत्राचारपछि पनि बालबालिकालाई घर फकाईएको नपाएमा कानुन बमोजिम कारवाही अगाडि बढाईने बालअधिकार अधिकृत दाहालले बताए । त्यसका लागि आवश्यक अनुगमन प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारीको उपस्थितिमा तत्काल थालिने पनि उनले बताए । जिल्लामा घरेलु कामदारको रुपमा बालबालिकालाई लगाउने कार्य पुर्णरुपमा अन्त्य गर्नको लागि जिल्ला बालकल्याण समितिले कार्ययोजना बनाईरहेको र अब जिल्ला सदरमुकामबाहेक सम्पुर्ण गाविसहरूमा अनुगमन गर्ने योजना रहेको जिल्ला बालकल्याण समितिले जनाएको छ । सन्तोष रुचाल
