Morang/July 11 A group of villagers of Govindapur VDC-1 has threatened to kill Kantu Singh Godi, 60, on July 10 on charge of being a witch. The accused include Mohamad Abdulla, 22, Mohamad Habib, 33, Mohamad Bandaru, 25 and Mohamad Johari, 21. Dev Kumar Singh Godi, the son of Kantu Singh complained that despite their application at Govindapur Police Station for security and action against the accused, police had failed to take action. According to the victim’s wife Jagiya Devi Godi, the villagers had taken her sick husband from bed and beat him up. Police had rescued the man while being thrashed. The villagers had warned him of feeding human excreta, throwing him in the river and killing him if any person or animal in the village dies or falls ill. District Court Nepal Bar Association secretary Kalyan KC called INSEC DR on July 11 to initiate step to help Godi. INSEC asked the victims to file the complaint at higher authority if the local police station did not heed to their plea and contacted Govindapur station in-charge SI Baijanath Yadav to inquire about Godi’s case. SI Yadav told INSEC that the accused had warned the police of dire consequences if they initiated any legal step making them reluctant to make any arrest. The victims have filed a complaint at District Police Office with the support of INSEC on July 11. मोरङ । ०७० असार २७ गते गोविन्दपुर गाविस-१ का ६० वर्षीय कन्टुसिंह गोडीलाई बोक्सो लागेको आरोपमा सोही ठाउँका २२ मोहमद वर्षीय अब्दुल्ला, ३३ वर्षीय मोहमद हबिव,२५ वर्षीय मोहमद बाँदरु, २१ वर्षीय मोहमद जोबारीलगायतका गाउँले समूहले ०७० असार २६ गते कुटपिट गरी मार्ने धम्की दिएको छ । सो घटनापछि पीडितपक्षले प्रहरी चौकी गोविन्दपुरमा शान्तिसुरक्षा गर्न र दोषीलाई कारबाही गर्न माग गर्दै उजुरी दिए पनि सुनुवाइ नभएको पीडितका छोरा देवकुमारसिंह गोडीले बताए । पीडितका पत्नी जगियादेवी गोडीका अनुसार, बिरामी अवस्थाका पति कन्टुलाई बोक्सोको आरोप लगाइ गाउँले समूहले राति ओछ्यानबाट उठाएर टोलमा लगी कुटपिट गरेको थियो । कुटपिट भएकै ठाउँबाट पीडितलाई स्थानीय प्रहरी चौकीले उद्दार गरेको थियो । समयमै प्रहरी नपुगेको भए पीडितको अवस्था खतरामुक्त हुने थिएन । गाउँमा कोही व्यक्ति मर्‍यो वा विरामी भयो, कसैको घरपालुवा जनावर विरामी भयो वा मर्‍यो भने बोक्सो लागेर भएको भन्दै पीडितलाई विष्टा खुवाउने, खोलामा बगाउने र मार्ने धम्की आरोपित पक्षले दिएको थियो । जिल्ला अदालत नेपाल बार एशोसिएशनका सचिव कल्याण केसीले पीडित पक्षलाई सहयोग गर्न असार २७ गते फोन सर्म्पर्क गरी इन्सेक जिल्ला प्रतिनिधिलाई अनुरोध गरेका थिए । इन्सेक प्रतिनिधिले प्रहरी चौकीले सुनुवाइ नगरे सो भन्दा माथिल्लो निकाय इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय सिजुवामा उजुरी दिन पीडित पक्षलाई सुझाव दिएका थिए । उनले प्रहरी चौकीका इन्चार्ज सई वैजनाथ यादवलाई फोन सर्म्पर्क गरी पीडितको सुरक्षा र दोषीलाई कारबाही प्रक्रिया थाल्न अनुरोध गरेका थिए । चौकीका इन्चार्ज यादवले आरोपित पक्षले कारबाही प्रक्रिया अघि बढाए चौकीमा आक्रमण गर्ने धम्की दिएको र चौकीमा प्रहरी जनशक्ति कम भएकोले उनीहरुलाई गिरफ्तार गर्न नसकिएको बताए । पीडित पक्षले इन्सेक क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय विराटनगरमा असार २७ गते उजुरी दिएको छ । दीपेन नेउपाने
