A former principal of Ratna Primary School at Singhari in Rainus Municipality, Lamjung, who was injured after being attacked by his inebriated friend, died during the course of treatment in Kathmandu. Hitman Shrestha, 55, was critically injured after his firend Bel Bahadur Gurung, 36, struck him with a wooden plank under the influence of alcohol. He was rushed to District Community Hospital in Lamjung which referred him to Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara. Manipal Hospital referred him to Fishtail Hospital as there was no Intensive Care Unit facility in Manipal. He was brought to Neuro Hospital in Kathmandu after another referral where he breathed his last on Monday. Police said both Shrestha and Gurung were drunk on the day of the incident. They were close friends and were returning after watching a cultural programme when a quarrel broke out between them. Police said accused Gurung was also injured and is on the run following the incident. राइनास नगरपालिका–९, कुँडुलेमा चिर्पट प्रहारबाट गम्भीर घाइते राइनास नगरपालिका–१०, सिमघारीस्थित रत्न प्राविका पूर्व प्रधानाध्यापक ५५ वर्षीय हितमान श्रेष्ठको उपचारका क्रममा न्युरो अस्पताल काठमाडौंमा मृत्यु भएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । डीएसपी पदमबहादुर विष्टका अनुसार कुँडुलेस्थित आफ्नै गाउँमा स्थानीय ३६ वर्षीय बेलबहादुर गुरुङले दाउराको चिर्पट प्रहार गरेपछि श्रेष्ठ गम्भीर घाइते भएका थिए । तत्काल लमजुङ जिल्ला सामुदायिक अस्पताल ल्याइएकोमा उपचार हुन नसकी उनलाई पोखरास्थित मणिपाल शिक्षण अस्पताल लगिएको थियो । मणिपालमा आइसियु सुविधा नभएको भनी फिस्टेल हस्पिटलमा रिफर गरेको थियो । फिस्टेलमा पनि उपचार सम्भव नभएपछि काठमाडौंस्थित न्युरो अस्पताल पठाएकोमा उपचारका क्रममा सोमबार अपरान्हतिर मृत्यु भएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । प्रहरीका अनुसार घटना भएको दिन दुवैले मादक पदार्थ सेवन गरेका थिए । दुवैजना मिल्ने साथी रहेको र राति साँस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम हेरेर फर्कने क्रममा झगडा भएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । पीडक बेलबहादुर पनि सामान्य घाइते छन् । उनी फरार रहेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । प्रहरीले बेलाबहादुरविरुद्ध यसअघि ज्यान मार्ने उद्योग अन्तर्गत मुद्दा चलाइएकोमा अब मुद्दा कर्तब्यमा ज्यानमा परिणत हुने बताएको छ ।
