Four cops attacked by left alliance cadres

Four policemen in Bajhang were injured after they were attacked by some drunken cadres of the left alliances on Friday evening. Those cadres also vandalized the vehicles used by the police. The injured policemen are Hemraj Paneru, Laxmi Prasad Bhatta, Tej Bahadur Chandra and Yagya Raj Joshi. The police team was patrolling Deura area of the district headquarters Chainpur, after reports of disturbances created by the left alliances in the area. Unfortunately, the cadres started pelting stones at the police team. Some of them have sustains injuries, said police Inspector Ram Bahadur Chand. The injured policeman has been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. Police have arrested Bhakta Khati and Ramesh Khati of Thalara rural municipality-2 and Mukunda Thapa of Khaptad Channa rural municipality-1 while the rest are still at large. A local, however, said that the policemen by mobilizing temporary police were beating pedestrians for no reason which had irked the locals. That might be one of the reasons why the incident occured, said the local requesting anonymity. After the election, the buying and selling of liquor has resumed in the district.
