Districrt Police Office have arrested Tekendra Tamang, 40, of Bharapa9 on January 4 for expelling his brother and his wife opposing their intercaste marriage.

Tamang's younger brother Khadka Tamang, 25, had got married to Radhika Lakandri, 25, of ward no. 8 of the same VDC. He was arrested after the couple filed a complaint against him on January 3.

Khadka and Radhika had got married on October 9. Khadka said they were mistreated for their step and was denied entry into the house. He added his brother even accused him of losing his caste, losing right to stay with the family and telling him to leave the village.

After being rejected by the family, the couple began living in a hut in the family field whence they were forced to leave.
