Locals staged a protest demonstration in Birgunj demanding province capital today. CPN-UML leader Manoj Chaudhary in protest assembly at Ghantaghar said that the government has betrayed Birgunj by making Janakpur the temporary capital of province 2. He also said that if the province assembly did not agree to make Birgunj the capital of province 2 then they will not be allowed to enter in Brigunj. विरगंजलाई प्रादेशिक राजधानी बनाउन माग गर्दै शनिवार २४ औ दिनसम्म पनि रिले अनसन जारी छ। प्रदेशसभाको पहिलो बैठक नजिकिदै जाँदा संघर्ष समितिले पनि आन्दोलनका रणनीतिहरु फेर्दैछ सोहि क्रममा आज उनीहरुले कालोझण्डा बोकी विरोध र्यालीसमेत प्रदर्शन गरेका छन्। आज विरगंजमा भएको विरोध जुलुसपछि घण्टाघर चोकमा आयोजित विरोधसभामा एमाले नेता मनोज चौधरीले सरकारले अस्थायी राजधानी जनकपुरलाई तोकेर विरगंजसंग कुठाराघात गरिसकेको भन्दै अव स्थायी राजधानी तोक्ने जिम्मेवारी प्रदेश सदस्यहरुको हातमा आएकाले प्रदेशसभाको पहिलो बैठकले स्थायी राजधानी विरगंजलाई बनाउने निर्णय नगरे सबै दलका सदस्यहरुलाई विरगंज प्रवेशमा निषेध गर्ने चेतावनी दिए।
