A person in Banke has registered a complaint at National Human Rights Commission's office in Nepalgunj against police, accusing the police of physically assaulting him. Dhanendraraj Soni of Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city-21 registered the complaint on February 15. In the complaint, Soni said that, on February 2, some policemen in plainclothes physically assaulted him at Puraini Babakuti of Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city-22 presurring him to falsely claim that he possessed brown sugar. He was arrested by the police on false charge of brown sugar possession and later tortured in the cell. He has also accused the police of threatening him not to speak about the incident in the court. Soni has sustained injury on knee due to police beating. नेपालगञ्ज उमनपा-२१ का धनेन्द्रराज सोनीलाई प्रहरीले यातना दिएको भन्दै पीडित पक्षले फागुन ३ गते राष्ट्रिय मानव अधिकार आयोग नेपालगञ्जमा उजुरी दिएका छन् । पीडित पक्षले आयोग समक्ष घटनाको छानबिन गरी संलग्न प्रहरीलाई कारवाहीको माग गरेका छन् । नेपालगञ्ज उमनपा-२२ पुरैनी बाबाकुटीको नजिकबाट सादा पोशाकमा आएका प्रहरीले माघ १९ गते गिरफ्तार गरी ‘ब्राउन सुगर आफ्नो हो’ भनी स्वीकार गर्न दाबाव दिने क्रममा तलाउमा डुबाई अमानवीय तरिकाले कुटपिट गरेको पीडित पक्षले आयोगमा दिएको उजुरीमा उल्लेख छ । अदालतमा म्याद थप गर्दा यातना दिएको नभन्न प्रहरीले धम्की दिएको पीडित पक्षले जनायो । प्रहरीको कुटपिटबाट गोडामा समस्या देखिएपछि फागुन १ गते भेरी अञ्चल अस्पतालमा भर्ना गरेको र ब्राउन सुगर आफ्नो हो भन्न स्वीकार गर्न कुटपिट गरेको कुरा कसैलाई नभन्न अस्पतालको बेडमा नै कुटपिट गरेको पीडित पक्षले आरोप लगाएको छ । बाँके प्रहरीले ब्राउन सुगर नियन्त्रणको बहानामा झुठो मुद्दा लगाई यातना दिएको धनेन्द्रका बुवा रामकुमार सोनीले बताए ।
