The Tikapur Incident Victim Families Association has demanded an immediate release of the 26 people, including two minors, arrested on the charge of involvement in a political incident. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Coordinator of the association Dhan Kumar Chaudhary urged the government to make public the report of the incident. “Everyone talks about the incident day. Curfew was imposed a day after the incident when Tharu homes were burnt, looted under the cover of police protection while Tharu girls and women were mistreated. But no human rights activist raise the issue,” he said. Kanchanpur Chair of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities Premwati Rana said it is unfortunate that the government has not made its official position public about the Tikapur incident. The association has also demanded that HoR member Resham Lal Chaudhary should be given his victory certificate, the case filed against the accused in the incident be withdrawn and those who suffered losses in the vandalism a day after the incident be compensated. टीकापुर घटना राजबन्दी पीडित परिवार संघले राजनीतिक घटनामा संलग्न भएको आरोपमा थुनिएका दुई नाबालकसहित २६ जनालाई तत्काल रिहाइ गर्न माग गरेको छ । शुक्रबार आयोजित पत्रकार सम्मेलनमा संघका संयोजक धनकुमार चौधरीले घटनाबारे तयार पारिएको अध्ययन प्रतिवेदन तत्काल सार्वजनिक गर्न सरकारसँग आग्रह गर्दै भने, “विसं २०७२ भदौ ७ गतेको घटनाका बारेमा सबैले आवाज उठाउँछन् तर भदौ ८ गतेको बारेमा कोही बोल्दैनन्, ८ गते कर्फ्यु लागेको थियो, प्रहरीकै आडमा छानीछानी थारुका घरमा आगो लगाइयो, लुटपाट गरियो, सम्पत्ति जफत गरियो, थारु चेलीबेटी र श्रीमतीमाथि बदनियतपूर्ण व्यवहार गरियो, यस्तो स्थितिमा पनि मानवअधिकारवादी बोलेनन्, आजको दिनसम्म पनि बोलेका छैनन् ।” नेपाल आदिवासी जनजाति महासंघ कञ्चनपुरका अध्यक्ष प्रेमवती रानाले टीकापुर घटनाका बारेमा सरकारबाट आधिकारिक धारणा सार्वजनिक नगरिनु दुःखद भएको बताए । संघले कैलाली क्षेत्र नं १ का प्रतिनिधिसभा सदस्य रेशमलाल चौधरीलाई विजयी प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान गर्नुपर्ने, घटनाका आरोपितमाथिको मुद्दा फिर्ता गरी क्षतिपूर्ति प्रदान गर्नुपर्ने, भदौ ८ को दिन तोडफोड र जलाइएका सम्पत्तिको क्षतिपूर्ति प्रदान गर्नुपर्नेलगायत माग गरेको छ ।
