Police have arrested four persons from Kathmandu on the charge of extorting businessmen. A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police nabbed them for allegedly demanding Rs20 million from businesspersons posing as cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal. According to the CIB, the suspects have been identified as Chet Bahadur Gurung, 40, of Ajirkot Rural Municipality-4, of Gorkha, Som Bahadur Gurung, 28, of Sulikot Rural Municipality-4, Bir Bahadur Gurung, 38, of Siranchok Rural Municipality-8, and Sunil Dhakal, of Sulikot-4. Chet Bahadur is aligned with Tarun Dal, the youth organisation of the Nepali Congress. The gang had demanded the sum from real state entrepreneur Hari Prasad Sapkota, of Sulikot Rural Municipaliuty-8, currently residing at Khusibu in Nayabazaar, Kathmandu, and other entrepreneurs, threatening them on the phone with death if they failed to cough up the money, police said. नेत्रविक्रम चन्द विप्लव नेतृत्वको नेपाल कम्यूनिष्ट पार्टीका कार्यकर्ता हुँ भन्दै जग्गा व्यवसायीबाट दुई करोड रुपैयाँ मागेको आरोपमा तरुण दलका महाधिवेशन प्रतिनिधिसहित चार जना पक्राउ परेका छन् । पक्राउ पर्नेमा नेपाली कांग्रेसको भातृ संगठन तरुण दलका महाधिवेशन प्रतिनिधि गोरखा अजिरकोट–४ का ४० वर्षीय चेतबहादुर गुरुङ, सोही ठाउँका २८ वर्षीय सोमबहादुर गुरुङ, सिरानचोक–८ का ३८ वर्षीय वसन्त भनिने वीरबहादुर गुरुङ र सुलिकोट–४ का २३ वर्षीय गणेश भनिने सुनिल ढकाल छन् । उनीहरुलाई प्रहरीको केन्द्रीय अनुसन्धान ब्यूरो (सीआईबी) को टोलीले काठमाडौंको विभिन्न स्थानबाट पक्राउ गरेको हो । ब्यूरोका अनुसार पक्राउ परेका चेतबहादुर मुख्य योजनाकार हुन् । वसन्तले भारतको दिल्लीमा गएर भारतीय नम्बरबाट एसएमएस गरी गोरखा सुलीकोट घर भई काठमाडौंको नयाँ बजारमा बसोबास गर्ने जग्गा व्यवसायीलाई धम्की दिएका थिए । उनीहरुले रकम नदिएमा घर बमले उडाइदिने र ज्यान मार्ने भन्दै धम्क्याएका थिए । उनीहरुलाई पक्राउ गरी अपहरण तथा शरीर बन्धक उद्योग अन्तरगत मुद्दा दर्ता गरेर ५ दिन म्याद थप गरेर विस्तृत अनुसन्धान भइरहेको ब्यूरोका प्रहरी उपरीक्षक जीवनकुमार श्रेष्ठले बताए ।
