Mayor of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality Madan Sundar Shrestha has been assaulted by two persons at around 6:00 this evening. Mayor Shrestha has sustained injuries in legs, hands and head after he was thrashed with iron rods. “Two unidentified persons called while I was entering his house and I was immediately attacked, Shrestha said.” After the attack, Mayor Shrestha managed to escape by hiding in a nearby mobile phone shop. The Mayor is receiving treatment in Madhyapur Thimi Hospital. Likewise, the attackers have also ravaged Mayor Shrestha’s vehicle bearing registration Ba 8 cha 8720. A man-hunt is underway, Police said. मध्यपुर थिमी नगरपालिकाका मेयर ४३ वर्षीय मदन सुन्दर श्रेष्ठ माथी दुई जनाको अपरिचित समूहले वैशाख ८ गते साँझ ६ बजे फलामको रड प्रहार गरी घाइते बनाएका छन् । मेयर श्रेष्ठको निजी निवास गठ्ठाघरमा आएको उक्त समूहले रड प्रहार गर्दा दाहिने हात र दाहिने गोडामा चोट लागेको छ । मेयर श्रेष्ठको उपचार मध्यपुर अस्पतालमा भइरहेको छ । उक्त समूहले मेयरको बा ८ च ८७२० नम्बरको गाडी समेत तोडफोड गरेको छ। मेयरलाई आक्रमण गर्नेहरूको खोजीकार्य सुरु गरिएको महानगरिय प्रहरी वृत थिमीका डिएसपी प्रज्वल महर्जनले जानकारी दिए ।
