Inmates Facing Difficulty of Over Crowd

Sankhuwashava/ September 4 The inmates of District prison of Khandbari are facing a space problem due to the over-crowded placement. The “D” grade prison has a capacity of 25 inmates; however, 100 inmates including 76 inmates and 24 detainees are kept. There are 10 female inmates in the prison. The prison lacks of clean drinking water and sufficient space for sleeping or cooking food, according to the prison guard Sunil Rai. The inmates complained that there is no proper toilet in the prison. The prison has just two rooms. In one room 10 females are kept and 90 male inmates are kept at another room. The jailer Damber Katuwal said that the construction of new building is underway and soon the inmates will be transferred to the new building. जि
