Implementation of Tourism-related Security Concepts Stressed

Kathmandu/September 9 Stakeholders have stressed on the implementation of tourism-related security concepts. Speaking at an interaction on "Security Issues in Tourism Sector" jointly organized by Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) [SCOPE Nepal] and Thamel Tourism Development Sector in Kathmandu on September 9, they urged the government to give complete shape to the concepts related to security in tourism sector. They were of the opinion that negative message regarding the security of tourists would ultimately affect the economy of the country as tourism sector is the backbone of Nepal's development. Executive Director of INSEC Bijay Raj Gautam hailed the role of security agencies in the security of tourists. He called for the citizen's support in the security of tourists. National advisor of USIP Nepal Shovakar Budathoki said that the nation could develop economically and socially through tourism sector only if the government provides security in all sectors. INSEC Mid-regional coordinator Krishna Gautam underscored the role of every individual towards security of tourists. SP Basant pant of the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division said that Nepal Police is always cooperating to solve problems of tourists.
