Bara/September 12 The husband and relatives of Naima Khatun, 23, of Harpur in Prastoka VDC-1 have attempted to kill her accusing her of not being able to bear a child. Naima’s husband Azmudin Haq Dewan, 26, father-in-law Jaytullah Haq Dewan, 57 and mother-in-law Saida Khatun, 55, tried to beat her to death on September 10. Inspector Ramnath Ghimire informed that Naima was rescued by the neighbors after hearing to her pleas as the accused were beating her, tying her to a bamboo stick, and strangulating her. Ghimire informed that a case of attempt to murder has been filed against Naima’s husband and in-laws. Naima is being treated at Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, Birgunj, police informed.
