Bandh enforcers have torched a passenger bus heading towards Melamchi from Dhulikhel on September 15 on charge of defying the Tamsaling bandh called by 33 parties including the CPN-Maoists.
The locals had retaliated the bandh after bandh enforcers mistreated journalist Devraj KC of Araniko Television at Tindobato while he was coming to Banepa. Police had intervened when a clash was about to take place between the bandh enforcers and the locals opposing bandh. The District Police Office arrested 17 bandh enforcers after they started pelting stones at police.
The bandh enforcers torched a passenger bus (Ba2Kha 5672) at Mirabel chok in Dhulikhel Municipality-5 saying that vehicles were operated after arresting cadres of CPN-Maoist and CPN-Unified. The passengers in the bus managed to save their life by escaping from the window.
Press statement issued by Federation of Nepali Journalist Kavre chapter and Press Chautari Kavre said that Keshavraj Paudyal of Rajdhani Daily and Devraj KC of Araniko Television were attacked by the bandh enforcers.
