2018-07-16

Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kathmandu

More than two dozen rights’ activists have been detained for protesting at the prohibited area in front of the parliament at New Baneshwor. The Human Rights and Peace Society Nepal organized a rally condemning government's arbitrary and anti-human rights policies that curb freedom of expression and right to peaceful protests, both of which are enshrined in the country's constitution. Of those arrested, 21 are male and four are female.
