150 Nepali women in ‘captivity’

One hundred and fifty Nepali women who were using illegal channel to go abroad for employment have reportedly been held hostage by their so-called agents in Banaras, India. The incident was revealed after one of the women from Madhuban Municipality in Bardiya phoned her husband and cried for help on Sunday. CDO Ram Bahadur Kurumbang said they were trying to locate the exact whereabouts of the women. The District Administration Office plans to coordinate with anti-trafficking organisations like Maiti Nepal for their rescue.
