A woman at Mechingar-6 sustained grave injuries on her head when she was hit by a walki-talkie aimed at her by police personnel on July 13. Lakshmi Acharya Mishra was physically abused and brutally beaten by the police personnels led by DSP Tanka Prasad Bhattarai. According to Lakshmi, her husband Rabindra Mishra had called the police to report about another incident of physical violence. He shouted at the police over phone for not arriving on time. The police arrived at her house in search of her husband but beat her instead when they could not find him. Lakshmi's husband said that they were asked by the police not to tell anybody about the incident and forced them to reconcile after DSP Bhattarai accepted the offense. इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालयका डिएसपी टंक प्रसाद भट्टराईको कुटपिटबाट मेचीनगर ६ की एक महिला घाइते भएकी छन् ।डिएसपीले वाकिटाकी प्रहार गर्दा स्थानीय लक्ष्मी आचार्य मिश्रको टाउकोमा चोट लागेको हो ।'घरमा आएर लछारपछार गर्दै टाउकोमा हिर्काए',लक्ष्मीले भनिन्, 'बिना कारण प्रहरीको कुटपिटबाट घाइते हुन पर्यो'। बिहिबार राति स्थानीय कमला ठाकुर र लाइमा बेगमबीच सामान्य विवादपछी गम्भीर रुप लिएको थियो ।लाइमामाथि कमलका छोरा राहुल लगायतले अकरमण गरी घाइते बनाएका थिए ।उनको बिर्तामोडस्थित एक अस्पतालमा उपचार भइरहेको छ ।उक्त घटनापछी लक्ष्मीका पति रविन्द्र मिश्रले परहरी गुहारेका थिए ।प्रहरी समयमा नआएको भन्दै फोनबाट आक्रोश पोखेपछि डिएसपी भट्टराईकै नेतृत्वमा आएको टोलि लक्ष्मीमाथि जाइलागेको थियो ।'फोन गर्ने मान्छे खोइ ? भन्दै घरमा छिरे, श्रीमानलाई नभेटेपछि मलाई लछारपछार पार्दै कुटपिट गरे', लक्ष्मीले भनिन् । कुटपिटपछी स्थानीय राजनैतिक दलका कार्यकर्ताहरु र पिडित परिवारबीच छलफलमा प्रहरीले घटना कसैलाई नसुनाउन र मिल्ने दबाब दिएको थियो ।डिएसपी भट्टराईले गल्ती स्वीकारेको लक्ष्मीका पती रविन्द्रले बताए ।
