Tanahu/ October 3 Sunaina Kumari Sah of Bara District, living in Kailali has mistreated Bhagwati Pariyar, 27, of Kyamin VDC-1 on October 1 on charge of being Dalit. The victim said that she was mistreated by Sunaina while they were filling water from the tap near the village. The victim lodged a complaint at District Police office on October 2 on charge of being subjected to caste discrimination. The police arrested the accused the same day. The victim said that she was discriminated by Sunaina in many other occasions also. Chakra Raj Joshi, DSP of District police office said that the accused would be charged under the Caste Discrimination act. Similarly, a news representative of Kantipur Daily Purna B.K of Kyamin VDC-1 has been mistreated on October 2 by Surendra Adhikari of Byash Municipality-16. He was mistreated while collecting the news of caste discrimination on Bhagwati Pariyar of the same VDC. The victim stays at the accused's house. Meanwhile, FNJ has condemned the incident of caste discrimination on the journalist. Gopiman Shrestha, SP of District police office said that police was ready to take action against the accused.
