Saptari/October 12 Police have arrested Phuleshwor Sharma Badahi, 45, of Bamanagama Katti VDC-3 on October 12 on charge of attempting to rape a 10-year-old girl. SI Badan Pradhan of the District Police Office Saptari (DPO) said that the accused was arrested following a complaint filed by the victim's family at the DPO on October 12. The victim's mother said that the accused, who works in a furniture shop, attempted to rape the girl at around 3.30 on October 11 while nobody was at her home. Family of the girl had beaten up and injured the accused after the girl told them about the incident. The accused underwent treatment and medical check-up the same day at Zonal Hospital Rajbiraj. The accused has said that the girl's family had beaten him accusing him with false accusations. SI Pradhan said that investigation was ongoing into the incident.
