According to them, CPN-M cadres Dhaneshwar Pokharel, 50, of Khaira VDC-6 and Khim Bahadur Karki aka Bullet, 25, of Naya Gaon VDC-3 had threatened to kill UCPN-M district coordinator, Krishna Adhikari aka Prakash. Adhikari was returning home from Bangesal VDC after meeting the cadres when the incident occurred in Dhugegadhi VDC-3. Adhikari said that he was receiving threats from the mobile numbers 9847821821 and 9847821825 in which he was told that he would be eliminated within 10 days. CPN-M central committee member, Dhaneshwar Pokharel rejected the accusation claiming false charges were leveled.
