Kapilvastu, Ghaas kaatna gayeki balika blitkrit. Kapilvastu/October 10 District Police Office (DPO) has informed that a 16-year-old girl has been raped by one Najare Alam Musalman, 35, on October 8. The girl told the police that she had gone to the field collect fodder in the afternoon where the accused arrived in the pretext of checking canal. She added that then he snatched her sickle, took her forcefully to the bank of Jamuwar River and then raped her. Musalman later dumped her near her home at around mid-night and then fled, the girl reported. Police said that Agate Chamar and Pahariya Chamar had abetted Musalman to carry out the crime. Women Cell of DPO said that the accused along with his family members remain absconding since the day of the incident. The victim filed a complaint at DPO on October 9. She was treated at District Hospital, Taulihawa. The girl’s family claimed that the family of the accused was trying to influence the case by offering the girl some money.
