Four Injured in NC, UML Clash

Myagdi/November 4 Four persons have been injured in a clash that ensued between the cadres of NC and UML in Galeshwor market at around 10 pm on November 3. Chairperson of Youth Association Dinesh KC was severely injured in the attack by NC cadres. He has been rushed to Neuro Hospital, Kathmandu after his treatment was not possible in Pokhara, UML Myagdi said. According to District Police Office, UML cadres KC and Ekendra Tijiza and NC cadres Bishal Baruwal and Prem Roka were injured in the incident. Baruwal is undergoing treatment in Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara. The other injured returned home after treatment in the district hospital. NC poll candidate Kham Bahadur Garbaza said that the incident occurred after some youths in inebriated condition shouted while the NC election assembly was about to end. According to local people, the dispute turned political after local youths and NC cadres accused each other of interrupting their programs. The clash occurred when a group of UML cadres arrived at Galeshwor from the district headquarters to support UML sympathizer Gopal Pun who was beaten allegedly by the NC cadres. UML has said that NC should take total responsibility of the incident for interrupting the Dheusi-Bhailo program of locals and organizing election gathering at 10 pm violating the election code of conduct.
