Cowboy thrashed in Gorkha for being UML supporter

GORKHA, NOV 06 - A cow herder was reportedly thrashed at Lapu-7, one of the remotest villages in Gorkha , for supporting the CPN- UML . Local Nepali Congress (NC) leader Aash Bahadur Gurung allegedly thrashed Kale Gurung, leaving him seriously injured for being 'an UML supporter'. According to local Surya Bahadur Gurung, Aash Bahadur reached at Kale's asking for vote for Nepali Congress in the Constituent Assembly (CA) election on Tuesday while the latter was at his sheep farm. The incident site is a two-day's trek from the nearest police post, Arughat. Aash Bahadur suddenly attacked Kale as he said he would give a vote for the 'sun', the election symbol of the UML , said an eyewitness Rakesh Gurung. Until this report is filed, preparations are underway to take injured Gurung to a hospital. The UML , Lapu Village Committee condemned the incident and termed it as a 'criminal activity'. Accused Gurung is on the run after the incident. It may be noted that the incidents of political clashes are increasing in Gorkha as it is caught up in the election fever of the second Constituent Assembly (CA).
