2012-01-23

Bhojpur/January 23

People in Bhojpur headquarters have been waiting in terror for the explosive devices placed during the conflict to be disposed.

There are still some devices lying in the premises of Tundikhel near District Police Office, Bhojpur. Some of them were discovered in buried state on January 20. The type of the devices could not be identified as they are covered in rust.

Locals complain that though the District Administration Office, District Police Office and Nepal Army’s Gorakh Bahadur Company remain nearby the site, none has taken step to clear the place. One Goma Tamang of Bhojpur5, whose house is just about 10 meters from where the bombs are lying, criticized police and army for not being interest to safeguard the area.

When asked, CDO Jeevan Prasad Oli said the bombs would be defused once the bomb disposal unit of the NA ascertains the condition of those devices.

Though, the stock of the explosive devices have been defused in the district, the devices discovered at buried state, do create panic among the locals.
