The District Community Hospital said that the number of “Child pregnancy” is in increasing trend in the district of Lamjung. Dr Hikmat Bhandary of District Community Hospital said that number of children coming for pregnancy test is increasing in the hospital. The age of children coming for pregnancy test is less than 18 years and their percentage are 32 according to the hospital source. According to the data of the District Hospital, 41% of children are getting married before their marital age however it is against the law. Dr Bhandary says that there is high risk of getting married in early age as they are not developed well either physically or mentally. Chief Lok Raj Pandey of District Coordination Committee said that the number of child marriage is increasing in Dudh Pokhari Rural Municipality, Dordi Rural Municipality and Marsyangdi Rural Municipality according to the data. He added that awareness is essential among the people on early marriage. जिल्ला सामुदायिक अस्पतालमा गर्भ परीक्षणका लागि ‘बालिका गर्भवती’को सङ्ख्या बढ्दै आएको जिल्ला सामुदायिक अस्पतालका डाक्टर हिक्मत भण्डारीले बताए । गर्भ परीक्षण गर्न आउने सङ्ख्याको ३२ प्रतिशत गर्भवतीहरू १८ वर्ष उमेर नपुगेको पाइएको डाक्टर भण्डारीले बताए । जिल्ला अस्पतालको तथ्याङक अनुसार ४१ प्रतिशतले उमेर नपुग्दै विवाह गर्ने गरेको पाइएको छ । कानुनत २० वर्ष पूरा गरे मात्र विवाह गर्न पाइने व्यवस्था छ । स्थानीय सरकारले यसको न्यूनीकरणमा चासो देखाएपनि ‘मागेर’ भन्दा पनि ‘भागेर’ विवाह गर्नेहरूले बालविवाह गरेको पाइएको छ । बालविवाह गर्नाले महिलाको शारीरिक र मानसिक स्वास्थ्य अवस्था कमजोर हुने डाक्टर भण्डारीको भनाइ छ । दुधपोखरी गाउँपालिका, दोर्दी गाउँपालिका र मस्र्याङदी गाउँपालिकामा बालविवाह गर्नेको सङ्ख्या अन्यत्रको तुलनामा धेरै रहेको जिल्लाको तथ्याङकमा रहेको जिल्ला समन्वय समितिका प्रमुख लोकराज पाण्डेले बताए । सचेतना अभियानमार्फत बालविवाह न्यूनीकरण गर्न आवाश्यक रहेको पाण्डेको भनाइ छ ।
