An irate mob torched a truck after it welted a motorcycle killing the motorcyclist and fatally injuring a pillion rider at Khairahani in Chitwan on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Sona Mahat of Khairahani Municipality-2. Meanwhile, Mahat’s wife, Jeni Mahat sustained serious injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment at Bharatpur based Alive Hospital and Trauma Centre. According to District Police Office Chitwan, the truck (Na 5 Kha 9861) en route to Narayangadh welted the motorcycle at an intersection along East West Highway killing Mahat on the spot. Police have detained the truck driver.
