Teachers in Election Campaign, Education Affected

Jumla/November 11, Education in almost all schools of Jumla has been affected after the teachers associated with different professional organization are busy in election campaign. District Education Office (DEO) said that political parties have violated the election code of conduct (CoC) by mobilizing the teachers in their campaign. 65 thousand 5 hundred and 9 students are studying in 1 hundred and 54 schools in the district. The DEO has already written letters requesting schools to provide details of teachers present in school. DEO will be initiating proceedings against the teachers engaged in election campaign upon the recommendation of School Management Committee. The involvement of teachers in election campaign violates the election CoC, District Education Officer Nepal Hari Ranabhat said. Chief Election Officer Ram Prasad Sharma said that action cannot be initiated against them unless complaints are filed.
