Dozens of activists gathered in front of the prime minister’s official residence today and staged a symbolic act of ‘injustice’ winning over ‘justice’ to protest against government failure to provide justice to Nirmala Panta. Protesters chanted slogans demanding that the culprit(s) be made public. Even after 80 days of the incident, police are still clueless about the culprit(s). A female activist presented herself as a statue of ‘lady justice’ carrying the ‘scale of justice’ which was weighed down by injustice. Raziya Banu, an activist, said they wanted the government and the prime minister to know how the victims of rape and sexual violence were denied justice in the country. “We want the government to do justice to Nirmala Panta and be serious in cases related to violence against women. Activists of social media campaigns #JusticeForNirmala and #RageAgainstRape also expressed solidarity with the protest. Sharada Chand, an activist from Kanchanpur, said that they would continue the protest programmes even during festivals. मानव अधिकारकर्मीहरुले बालिका निर्मला पन्तको हत्यारालाई पक्राउ गरी कारबाही गर्न सरकार असफल भएको भन्दै आक्रोश व्यक्त गरेका छन् । शुक्रबार बिहान प्रधानमन्त्री निवास बालुवाटारको मूलगेट अगाडि धर्ना दिन पुगेका उनीहरुले निर्मला पन्तको हत्यारालाई अझै पक्राउ गरी कार्वाही गर्न नसकेको भन्दै सरकार र नेपाल प्रहरीप्रति आक्रोश व्यक्त गरेका हुन । बलात्कारपछि हत्या गरिएकी बालिका पन्तको हत्यारालाई पक्राउ गरी कारबाही गर्न सरकार असफल भएपछि त्यसको विरोधमा प्रधानमन्त्री निवास बालुवाटारमा धर्ना दिनु परेको मानव अधिकारकर्मी कपिलदेव श्रेष्ठले बताए । उनले दैनिक रुपमा बढदै गएको हत्या, हिंसा, बलात्कार लगायतका घटना नियन्त्रण गर्न नसक्ने सरकारले शान्ति सुरक्षाको उचित प्रबन्ध गर्न नसक्ने भन्दै आक्रोश पनि व्यक्त गरे । गत साउन १० गते बलात्कारपछि हत्या गरिएकी बालिका पन्तको हत्यारालाई अझै पक्राउ नसकेकोमा सरकारको चौतर्फी आलोचना भइरहेको छ । मानव अधिकारवादी संघ, संगठनहरुले निर्मला पन्तको हत्यारालाई पत्ता लगाउन बम दिदीबहिनीलाई अनुसन्धानको दायरामा ल्याउन पनि सरकारलाई आग्रह गर्दै आएका छन् ।
