39-year-old Jamirullah Darji, resident of Shivaraj Municipality, Kapilbastu-5, has been living a life of hostage at his own house since the past one year. Darji who suffers from mental illness is being chained by his family since the past one year after the death of his father. His mother 65-year-old Nurina Darji says that they are compelled chain him due to his mental illness.  He has been suffering from mental illness since the past 15 years.

Darji's mother laments that although the family has spent a lot of money to treat her son his condition has not improved. The family can no longer afford to treat him due to poor economic condition.
