A bandh called by the Joint Students' Struggle Committee Gaur to protest police oppression in the peaceful agitation of students affected normal life in the district on January 24.

Vehicles plying to long and short routes to and from Gaur did not operate while markets and industries also remained closed in Gaur and other places. The agitating students also burned tyres in different places and staged demonstrations whil e chanting to anti-government slogans.

Four persons including police personnel were injured when students of various colleges and schools demanding to reduce the additional load shedding hours clashed with police in Gaur on January 23. Students had vandalized two vehicles of Nepal Electricity Authority (Ba 1 Ja 1742 and Ko 1 Gha 45) same day. <
