Whereabouts of a newborn baby that was abducted three days after its birth in Bharatpur Hospital have been unknown for the past seven days.

Sarita Rai, of BharatpurN.P.4 has given birth to the newborn on January 16 and the baby was abducted when the mother had gone to the toilet at 2:45 pm after keeping it in a bed of the Maternity Ward of the hospital on January 18, relatives said.

A woman named Puja, 25 hailing from Nawalparasi district has abducted her baby, according to Sarita Rai, mother of the newborn.

Though ten persons were arrested for interrogation as per the information given by mother of the abducted baby, their involvement in the abduction have not been established yet and whereabouts of the baby are still unknown, DSP at Chitwan District Police Office Govinda Adhikari said.

A team led by Kumar Thapa, Inspector at DPO has been formed to investigate the incident and search for the abducted baby, DPO said, adding that search for the abducted baby is on round the clock.
