In Khotang, an attempt was made to reconcile the incident of rape attempt with financial inducement.

It is releaved that, Nirkumar Bishwakarma, 40, from Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-4, Kharmi, who is accused of sexual abusing a 17-year-old girl tried to reconcile the case with financial inducement. The victim and her relatives, had filed the complaint in Jalpa police station on February 26, but denied to file a complaint at the District Police Office, Khotang.

Police arrested BK on February 27 after a complaint was filed at Police station alleging sexual abuse. He allegedly abused the girl on February 25. According to the victim, the accused touched and kissed the girl's genital.

Durgajayanti Rai, a human rights activist and former parliament member said they succeeded in registering a case against perpetrator despite of several attempts for reconciliation in case.

After hesitation of two days to give application, the police convinced the victim to file a case, according to the District Police Office. DSP KC said counseling was provided to the girl after she was found to have been sexually assaulted.
