A school has been closed after Yuna Gurung, 15, a student of Maikot Secondary School at Takukot1 was beaten by a tipsy man on January 27.

Students, teachers and guardians of the school protesting beating of Gurung by Bikash Pariyar, 30 of Chhoprak VDC under the influence of alcohol closed the school today.

Gurung had fainted when Pariyar, who was on the way to his father-in-law house, had attacked Gurung with his fist to her chest while she had been returning home from school at Takukot7 on January 26, locals said.

Gurung was taken to the district hospital after first aid at Takukot Health Post, Nayan KC, secretary of Dipshikha Youth Club said.

Pariyar was arrested for his alleged involvement in beating up Gurung same day, Dilip Ghimire, Inspector at Gorkha District Police Office said.
