A woman was killed in Mahottari on Sunday morning. Police arrested Manoj Kumar Mahato of Manrasi Saba municipality-8 on charge of killing his 21-year-old wife Dhanmanti Devi. Police also arrested Dhanmanti's sister-in-law in connection to the murder.

The incident was revealed after the woman's family obstructed the funeral procession. Then the police took control of Dhanmanti's body and sent it to district hospital, Jaleshwar for postmortem examination. The relatives on the woman's side claim that she was murdered because of the marks on the neck and arms on the dead body.

The husband's family stated that Dhanmanti was found dead in her bed on Sunday morning. However, relatives claim that she was murdered. According to the father of the deceased, Dhanmanti had been assaulted in the past.
