2012-02-03

Kailali / February 3

Studies of 392 students have been affected after teachers of Suryamukhi Lower Secondary School of Khairala5 have been staging agitation for the past 12 days. Teachers are staging agitation saying that they are not getting their salary on time.

Teachers have been staging agitation alleging that they have not got salary since mid-November 2011, said head teacher Yogendra Deuba on February 3.

"As the school could not send the forms filled up by teachers to claim salary on time, there is delay in sending their salary," said the account section at District Education Office.

Some teachers supporting head teacher Deuba have padlocked the school as locals demanded action against him alleging that he has been involved in financial irregularities in the school, said Narendra Bahadur Gharti, chairperson of School Management Committee.

Teacher will get salary under second installment in mid-February as usual, however, head teachers with his nexus with some teachers closed the school in the name of teachers not getting salary on time, Gharti added.
